Manikandan (age 26), a photographer from Melathenur village in Kallakurichi, runs a studio at Bethanayakkan Estate.
He got acquainted with a girl named Bhumika through Facebook and although the two initially became friends, love blossomed over the course of the day.
However, not once did the two meet in person, nor did they even talk face to face.
But they were deeply in love with each other, in which Bhumika, suffering from heart disease, died suddenly.
Manikandan, who had suffered no contact from Bhumika, flinched.
There was no point in constantly calling Bhumika’s cell phone, meanwhile one day Bhumika’s grandmother picked up her cell phone and talked.
Manikandan asked him about Bhumika. He then said that Bhumika had died due to heart disease.
Upon hearing this, the shocked Manikandan decided to commit suicide.
Rishivandiyam police have registered a case and are investigating a complaint lodged by his father Sakthivel.
