Keshet 12 and the controlling owner of the company, Drorit Wertheim, announced today (Tuesday) her resignation from the board of directors and the position of chairman. Wertheim was appointed to the position following after the main soft drink company that was controlled by her father, the late Mosey Wertheim, acquired control of Keshet.
Wertheim has served as chairman of the company’s board for the past decade, and as stated today announced the termination of her position and the resignation of members of the company’s board of directors.
Drorit Wertheim is considered to be the face of the tangle of interests of the Central Soft Drinks Company with Keshet – the main body of television broadcasts in Israel. The main criticism of Keshet was that it prevented investigations and posed sharp questions in products linked to the main company, such as Coca-Cola (sugar), Terra, Tuborg, Carlsberg and so on, especially in light of ongoing reviews on the extent of health damage from sugar consumption in sugary drinks.
