Abidjan – The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, received, on Sunday evening, from the hands of the President of the Ivorian Republic, Alassane Ouattara, the flag of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), in anticipation of the 35th edition which will be organized in Morocco in 2025.
The flag of the African Cup of Nations was presented to Mr. Lekjaa at the end of the Ivory Coast-2023 CAN final, held at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic stadium in Ebimpé, in the north of Abidjan , in the presence of the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, and the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino.
The president of CAF affirmed, Friday during a press conference, that the CAN which will be held in 2025 in Morocco will be “excellent” and will, without a doubt, be a “huge success”.
CAN-2023 was won by the host country, Ivory Coast, after its victory against Nigeria in the final, with a score of 2 goals to 1.
This is the third trophy for the Elephants after their coronations in 1992 and 2015.
