The Ministry of Higher Education in charge of the National Unity Government announced “the allocation of 40 academic seats to the State of The Gambia.”
According to the ministry, “The scholarship includes 20 seats for bachelor’s degrees and 20 seats for postgraduate studies in the fields of Arabic language and Islamic studies, with the aim of supporting academic capabilities in The Gambia and providing distinguished educational opportunities for its students.”
Dr. Al-Qaib pointed out “the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, stressing Libya’s role in supporting sister African countries.”
For his part, the Gambian minister expressed his thanks to the State of Libya, stressing that “these grants will contribute to improving the level of education in The Gambia and enhancing students’ skills in the fields of the Arabic language and Islamic studies.”
This cooperation represents part of Libya’s strategy to enhance cultural and scientific communication with sister African countries.
This announcement came “during a meeting between the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the National Unity Government, Imran Al-Qayeb, with his Gambian counterpart, Pierre Gomaz, on the sidelines of the activities of the International Week of Scientific Francophonie in the French city of Toulouse.”
