Shake-up in the energy economy: The CEO and founder announced his resignation

Economy Energy announces today (Tuesday) that Chen Melamed, the company’s CEO, has informed the company’s board of directors of his desire to terminate his position for personal reasons. Melamed, who has led the kibbutzim’s energy business since 2012, was a partner in founding and establishing an energy economy and turning it into a public company. During his tenure, an energy farm came to generate electricity of about 170 MW, projects under construction and winning quotas of about 300 MW and initiation projects of over 1000 MW.

In addition, Melamed led the company’s entry into new areas of activity that will constitute the company’s growth engines in the coming years, towards becoming one of the leading energy groups in Israel operating in all sectors in the industry, starting with electricity generation and storage from natural energy companies. The kibbutzim, through the supply of electricity to business and private customers through the cooperation with Cellcom and the establishment of Cellcom Energy to the deployment of infrastructure and charging of electric vehicles through the cooperation with Sonol EVI.
