Strengthening cooperation with Italy in the field of education and scientific research

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Government of National Unity, Imran Al-Qayeb, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Libya, “Galucca Alberini,” “Ricacadovilla,” the Deputy Ambassador, and “Marcello Matera,” the cultural attaché, and a representative of the European administration.

The meeting dealt with “discussing ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research, discussing the draft Libyan-Italian agreement in higher education, and the possibility of developing graduate studies departments and Italian language departments in Libyan universities, in addition to discussing granting visas to students scheduled to be sent this year to Italy.” In addition to discussing the possibility of opening a branch of the Italian Heritage School in Libya.”

The two parties stressed “the importance of joint communication to serve the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research, and to strengthen the bonds of mutual relations between them.”

The meeting was attended by the President of the University of Tripoli, the President of the Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies, the Director General of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry, the Directors of the Office of Ministry Affairs and International Cooperation, the Head of the Information and Documentation Department of the Department of Attachés and Delegates’ Affairs, and the Chairman of the Central Committee for Delegation Abroad.
