Polish, Hungarian – two good friends, even if it’s a sister city relationship. Stary Sącz became the sister city of Dunakeszi 17 years ago, from which mayor Jacek Lelek came with a delegation of 27 people to learn experiences and well-proven methods. That is why they checked the customer service, the Dunakeszi App application and the Dunakeszi Student Quarter, which opened in September, reports dunakeszipost.hu.

The delegation was received by Mayor Csaba Dióssi, Deputy Mayor Dávid Sipos and Commissioner for Foreign Relations Zoltán Kárpáti.

“It is a great honor that the mayor visited us again. First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the election results. We pushed hard, because we feel that the two settlements have a good relationship and the mayor has a lion’s share in this,” began the greeting of mayor Csaba Dióssi, who congratulated the re-elected mayor Jacek Lelek.

Jacek Lelek, who has been managing the small Polish town as mayor for 12 years, also congratulated Mayor Csaba Dióssi on his election results and the construction of the Dunakeszi Student Quarter.

The delegation’s first stop was the customer service, where undersecretary Anikó Keller, head of customer service, introduced the interested parties to the details.

After that, on the main square, they viewed the circle depicting the twin cities, which shows which direction and how many kilometers Stary Sącz is located from Dunakeszi.

At the location of the student quarter, Mayor Csaba Dióssi also told how much the people of Dunakes had been waiting for their own swimming pool. “After 1990, politicians promised in every election campaign that there would be a new swimming pool. Finally, in 2017 and now, we managed to build 1-1 swimming pool. First the Attila Gérecz Training Schooland now as part of the student quarter Zoltán Dömötör Dunakeszi Sports Pool has been completed, where it is already possible to play water polo. The participants were also briefly introduced to the successes of the namesake, Zoltán Dömötör, about which more in our previous article they can read.

After that, the technical school part of the student quarter was presented, where Eszter Szekeres-Joó also welcomed the delegation, and then Kati Zentai introduced the high school, who highlighted the huge interest from families, and the students really enjoy being able to study here.

Several people were surprised when they saw the lecture hall, since most high schools do not have such a room. The headmistress pointed out that it is the perfect location during further training and for information sessions and events involving the entire grade level (Kati Zentai in the photo is the headmistress of Béla Király IV High School).

Finally, the two mayors also discussed that the Polish team will compete in the III. Dunakeszi Mindmegeszin in February. If you feel like it, you can still submit your application, more about this you can read here.
