The work of this parliamentary meeting is structured around plenary sessions focused on several current topics, emphasizing the strengthening of parliamentary dialogue, the importance of environmental issues and the exchange of ideas and good practices in matters of legislation, governance and sustainable development, particularly in their environmental dimension.
Speaking during the plenary sessions, Mr. Ouzzine stressed that the formulation of alternatives and solutions requires the existence of a real political will aimed at a serious commitment both in terms of legislation and in their implementation and adaptation to respond. to the reality of water scarcity.
In the same context, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted the important role of parliamentarians within their national legislative institutions in continuous interaction and awareness-raising on water-related issues. Likewise, he considered that talking about climate change is an alarm signal about a great challenge facing humanity, requiring a clear vision, an effective action strategy to mitigate the impacts of drought and migration climate on humanity.
And Mr. Ouzzine stressed the need to pool efforts, exchange best practices, coordinate positions and take concrete measures to understand the changing nature of these threats, as well as work to strengthen the capacities of parliaments to all levels, considering that the real role of diplomacy lies in its ability to ensure water security for all.
