SOCAR plans to deploy 100 high speed battery devices in Switzerland by 2026.

This is stated in SOCAR’s report on sustainable development for 2023, Day.Az reports.

According to the report, the company currently operates 20 fast charging installations, mainly on motorways and in larger areas of the city of Zurich.

As part of the project to build a plant for the production of green hydrogen, the consortium of Alpiq, EW Hofe and SOCAR Energy Switzerland plans to build an electrolysis plant with a capacity of up to 10 megawatts in the municipality of Freienbach.

In general, as a result of the complete expansion of the plant at the end of construction, which will begin in 2025, it is planned to produce up to 1-1.2 thousand tons of “green” hydrogen per year. It will be transported via pipeline to SOCAR gas stations, which will be built on the Fuchsberg highway.

SOCAR Energy Switzerland launched its first hydrogen filling station at the Grauholz Sud filling station near the city of Bern, which supplies about 150 trucks per month with fuel. The company is also expanding its battery-electric vehicle charging business.

Note that by the end of 2023 the company increased the number of gas stations in Switzerland to 206.
