Shine Tom Chacko is an actor who has made a name for himself in Malayalam cinema through his many roles, big and small. Despite not having any notable film tradition, Shine has made a name for herself on the silver screen of Malayalam.
Shine comes to the front of the camera after being behind the camera for a long time as an assistant director. Today, Shine has become an indispensable presence among the young stars of Malayalam cinema through her natural acting style.
Shine’s latest release is Bhishma Parvam starring Mammootty and Amal Neerad. Shine Tom Chacko shares some of his experiences as an assistant director.

Shine’s Tom Chacko says that his first time working with Chackochan was on the film Dreamland, but that he first saw Chackochan on the set of his first film, Nammal.
Chackochan arrived at the location while we were filming the climax scenes of the movie. On his way to Thrissur, Kamal came to see Sir. That was the first time I saw Chackochan in person.
After that I got to work with Chackochan on my next movie dream come true. That day I organized Chackochan’s mobile number nicely. Mobile was not very popular then. But Chackochan has the phone in his hand.
So when I got home I called Chackochan. Called at the time of the film’s release. ‘I started talking about Shine Tom and working with Kamal Sir. He asked what those specialties were. Then I gave the phone to my mother and family. The first time they talked to a film star after I went to work on film was with Chackochan, Shine Tom Chacko said.
Similarly, Asif Ali is first seen at a traffic location. Asif was not very popular then. He was new to us. We saw the growth of Asif later. We acted together in Pakida when the movie started coming under Asif’s label. Mine was a good character in it too.
Then came the angel Kettolan. I went to act in it the day it was released. I met Asif at the location and he joined me and he shared the joy. As well as cutting the cake as part of Unda’s celebration that day, Shine says Tom Chacko.
