The Eastern Branch of Chungju City Senior Welfare Center won the grand prize in the public sector at the 2024 Chungcheongbuk-do Architecture Competition. The ‘Chungju City Senior Welfare Center East Branch’ designed by Sun Engineering General Architectural Office (CEO Shin Don-gan) won the grand prize in the public sector at the 2024 Chungcheongbuk-do Architecture Competition.
The 2024 Chungcheongbuk-do Architecture Competition is an event that selects buildings from the public and private sectors to encourage excellent buildings in urban spaces and awards architectural awards to architects who have contributed to the development of architectural culture.
‘Chungju City Senior Welfare Center East Branch’ has 1 underground floor and 4 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 4,952㎡, and is evaluated as being connected to various activity spaces for the elderly and a beautiful natural environment.
The eastern branch of the Chungju City Senior Welfare Center, which opened in June 2024, is equipped with facilities to provide senior welfare services, including a senior citizen restaurant, program room, health promotion room, smart health zone, and information room.
The eastern branch is well-received by the elderly by providing lifelong education classes such as language, hobbies, health, and new adulthood that reflect the results of a survey on the needs of the elderly, as well as a customized health care program of ‘support, stretch, and stretching’ through professionals (physical therapists). Meanwhile, Chungju City and the Chungbuk Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (Director Go Geun-seok, hereinafter referred to as the Chungbuk Institute of Science and Technology) held the ‘2025 National R&D Trend Analysis and Business Plan Writing and Planning Seminar’ at the Ruby Hall of the Chungju Hotel The Base on the 17th.
About 20 companies and 40 executives and employees attended this seminar, which was held to enhance the business plan writing and planning capabilities of companies located in Chungju City.
This seminar was conducted with a presentation on the direction of national research and development priority investment areas for 2025 by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning and a presentation on the strategic R&D planning and utilization of companies by Gangneung-Wonju National University.
Park Seon-gyu, head of the New Growth Industry Division, said, “I hope that this seminar will serve as an opportunity for Chungju City companies to gain a deeper understanding of the government’s research and development direction and take one step closer to winning government projects.”
Go Geun-seok, director of the Chungbuk Science, Technology and Innovation Institute, said, “In the future, we plan to hold various corporate support seminars focusing on the northern region of North Chungcheong Province, and we will accelerate the process of winning orders for government public projects in connection with companies in the northern region.”
Chungju City and the Chungbuk Institute of Science and Technology plan to prepare various support measures for companies based on the demands and opinions of companies that emerged from this seminar.
