FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Allegations of bribery involving the panel of judges in the Gregorius Ronald Tannur (GRT) case. The judge at the District Court (PN) of Surabaya, East Java, was allegedly caught in a sting operation (OTT) by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung), on Wednesday (23/10).

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) carried out a sting operation (OTT) in Surabaya, East Java. A total of 3 judges at the Surabaya District Court (PN) were arrested.

“It’s true (there were arrests),” said Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, Wednesday (23/10/2024).

The party affected by this OTT is thought to be the judge who handed down an acquittal sentence against the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur (GRT) in the murder case of Dini Sera Afrianti.

The Judicial Commission (KY) supports and appreciates the Attorney General’s firm steps in enforcing the law against this judge.

“KY supports the Attorney General’s steps to enforce the law in cases of alleged bribery. This of course further harms the honor and dignity of a judge,” said KY spokesperson Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata to JawaPos.com, Wednesday (23/10).

Mukti admitted that his party had previously imposed heavy sanctions in the form of dismissal of the Surabaya District Court judge who tried the defendant Ronald Tannur.

“KY has also imposed heavy sanctions in the form of permanent dismissal with the right to retire and proposed that the respondents be submitted to the Honorary Panel of Judges (MKH),” said Mukti.

Mukti explained that recommendations for sanctions had been submitted to the Supreme Court (MA). However, the ethics trial process through the Honorary Panel of Judges (MKH) has not yet been carried out, because the Supreme Court is still waiting for the cassation decision in the GRT defendant case.
