Another sports and recreation center opened in the Karaganda region on the eve of Republic Day

Akim of the Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev congratulated the Abay residents on the upcoming holiday.

“The President in his Address once again emphasized the importance of developing mass sports, and our region is also actively working in this direction. Every year we have more and more sports facilities,” noted the head of the region. “For residents of the Abay region, sports have always been important, and the village of Topar especially needs this complex. It has everything you need for sports: a spacious games room, wrestling and training rooms, rooms for coaches, showers and other amenities.”

The regional akim expressed confidence that this complex will become a place of attraction for young people and new champions will grow within its walls.

The new FOC was built according to the special project “Village – Cradle of the Country”.

“More than 10 thousand people live in our village, over 30% of whom are actively involved in sports.

The sports and recreation center will include basketball, volleyball, table tennis, weightlifting, Kazak kuresi and fitness.

The sports complex is fully equipped: there is a first-aid post, rest rooms for athletes, gyms, methodologists’ offices, etc.

Both children and adults can study with us. For athletes under 18 years of age and people with disabilities, classes are free. Students receive a 50% discount on their subscription,” said the head of the sports facility, Galia Malikkyzy.

Topar is known for its athletes who have glorified the country on the world stage.

Among them are Paralympic swimmer Andrei Afanasyev, weightlifter Daniyar Seisenov, powerlifter Kairat Ishchanov, polyathlete Amirlan Imashev and many others.

There may be more famous athletes in the future.

“I have been practicing Kazak kuresi for 7 years. I’m 14 now. We are very glad that we have opened a sports and recreation center. Now we can train more often, and not twice a week as before. Let’s work harder. Thank you everyone for FOC! We hope to become champions of Kazakhstan and the world,” says Nurtore Yerengaiyp.

In general, mass sports are developing in the Abay region. There are 113 sports facilities.

An accessible environment is created for people with disabilities. And every year more and more residents of the region are involved in sports competitions.

By the end of the year, two major republican boxing tournaments are planned in Abay.
