This project marks the return of a character beloved for generations and promises to bring the magic of stop-motion to a new audience. Josh Silvermandirector of franchises at Mattel, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in it MIPCOM Cannes.

The combination of Aardman’s experience in animation and Mattel’s rich history with memorable characters feels like a perfect marriage. Silverman commented: “Pingu still naturally gets an enormous amount of affection and attention. And an enormous amount of relevance.”
This statement reflects the intention to create a series that not only entertains children, but also resonates with adults, in what he calls “new-stalgia.”
The series is based on the original concept created by Otmar Gutmann in the 1980s, which first aired on BBC One in 1990. Pingu’s famous line, “¡Note Note!“It was recorded in the collective memory, making it a symbol of children’s animation.
