There is great sadness in the world of music at the moment: As announced on Monday evening, the former singer of the cult band “Iron Maiden” has died. Paul Di’Anno had health problems

“Despite being plagued by serious health problems in recent years which have left him confined to a wheelchair, Paul has continued to entertain his fans around the world and has performed over 100 concerts from 2023.”

The British-born man died at his home in Salisbury. The musician could be heard as lead singer on the metal band’s first two albums. His extravagant lifestyle caused more and more negative headlines and he was often reported to be abusing alcohol and drugs. In 1981, Di’Anno was finally replaced by Bruce Dickinson. Despite the expulsion, he broke up with his colleagues on good terms and then focused on his solo career. He was also a singer for several other groups, but this did not bring the desired success.

Little was known about his private life; he was married to the end and had several children. For the sake of his family, he is said to have finally gotten sober and received professional help for his addictions.
