According to a poll conducted by the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research (MIPR), Kamala Harris is likely to receive significantly fewer votes from Jewish voters than any other Democratic presidential candidate.
Polling data released Oct. 21 suggests that traditional support for Democrats among American Jews began to decline after the events of Oct. 7, 2023.
This is due to rising anti-Semitism, weakening support for Israel and intensifying pro-Palestinian protests. However, the majority of Jewish voters still support Israel, with only 5% sympathetic to anti-Israel movements.
MIPR noted that Jewish voter support for Democrats has been declining for decades. For example, 69% of Jews voted for Bill Clinton in 1992, 56% for Barack Obama in 2008, and only 47% for Hillary Clinton in 2016. For Kamala Harris, the projected level of support among Jewish voters is about 30%.
The reason for this decline in support is not only due to attitudes towards Israel. Jewish voters also express dissatisfaction with increased government spending and problems related to illegal immigration, the poll showed. In addition, they note that the American media is biased in its coverage of events related to Israel, and the US government remains indifferent to anti-Israel organizations.
Previously, Cursor reported the results of another survey conducted by Fox News. According to him, Donald Trump secured the support of 50% of voters, while Kamala Harris gained 48%. These numbers indicate a shift in voter sentiment, as Harris previously held a slight lead over Trump.
