Ashwin took 6 wickets in the Mohali Test against Sri Lanka and 435 wickets in Test cricket. Kapil surpassed the requirement (434) to become the 2nd highest wicket-taker in Tests in India.
In this case, Kapil Dev has sent a gift congratulating Aswin on his defeat. Kapil Dev has sent him a bouquet and a handwritten congratulatory note saying ‘Congratulations for breaking my record’. Ashwin shared this information in a video released by the BCCI.
