Gapyeong-gun‘s ‘Jarasum Flower Festa (Fall)’ achieved direct and indirect economic effects of KRW 17.7 billion. The direct and indirect economic effects of the ‘2024 Jaraseom Flower Festa (Fall)’, which ended on the 13th, were calculated to have reached approximately 17.7 billion won. Accordingly, there is an evaluation that the Jaraseom Flower Festa went beyond a simple tourist event and brought real vitality to the local economy.
According to Gapyeong-gun (Governor Seo Tae-won), a total of 227,000 people visited the Jarasum Flower Festa during the 30-day festival period, generating a direct economic effect of 1.3 billion won. Among these, revenue from admission fees amounted to approximately 670 million won, and revenue from store sales such as agricultural product sales and experience booths amounted to approximately 630 million won. In particular, agricultural product sales recorded at this fall festival amounted to 589 million won, and sales combined with the spring festival exceeded 1.1 billion won.
In addition, indirect economic effects such as entrance fees to tourist attractions, food sales, and lodging during the event period were estimated to amount to 16.4 billion won. The employment effect was also found to have created 73 jobs, providing new opportunities for local residents. This is an assessment that the Jaraseom Flower Festa has established itself as an important festival for the economic growth of Gapyeong-gun.
County Mayor Seo Tae-won said, “In the future, Jarasum Flower Festa plans to present a more diverse program with rich content spanning both spring and fall seasons.” He added, “We will make up for the shortcomings in this festival and make it even better next year so that it can be a festival that satisfies all visitors.” “I will try my best,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gapyeong-gun announced that it will begin pilot implementation of the ‘KakaoTalk Notification Talk’ service, which provides non-tax income delinquency information through a mobile electronic notice, starting from the 23rd of this month. This service, which is scheduled to be implemented next year, is intended to improve taxpayer convenience and increase the collection rate of arrears.
The KakaoTalk Notification Talk service is a system that allows taxpayers to receive delinquent information on their smartphones without a separate application process. Since it can be viewed only after going through an identity verification process, the risk of personal information leakage can also be prevented.
Taxpayers can view their delinquency history just by verifying their identity, and pay immediately through Kakao Pay and Witax. Convenience has been increased by providing information on various payment methods, and the use of virtual accounts is also supported.
Previously, when paper bills were sent by mail, there were problems such as loss and return of mail. This mobile notification service can resolve these inconveniences and prevent problems caused by personal information leaks or address mismatches.
An official from the Taxation Department said, “Through the KakaoTalk notification service, we expect to increase the convenience of taxpayers and further increase the collection rate of delinquent amounts,” and added, “We plan to continue to improve various tax administration services from the perspective of residents.”
