Manibus International Award: the excellence of Italian craftsmanship on display

The Manibus International Award is back for its third edition, a well-established event that celebrates Italian excellence in craftsmanship and design, bringing the best of Made in Italy into the spotlight. The awards evening, directed by the Rai Uno host, Livio Beshir, and the presenter Alina Liccione of Telenorba, will be held on 19 October at the Paisiello Theater in Lecce, with an exceptional guest: the singer-songwriter Michele Zarrillo, who will perform with some of his greatest hits.

The event, produced by Nicola Miulli Creations, with the support of the Puglia Region and Pugliapromozione, pays homage to personalities and realities that contribute to preserving and innovating the Italian tradition of craftsmanship. For the evening, there will also be space for dance with the moments proposed by Creatura Dance Research, while Mariella Vitucci will take care of the interviews backstage and Ciro Fucci will liven up the red carpet. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on Telenorba on November 2nd and subsequently on TGN24 and Teledue.

The Manibus Prize does not end with the ceremony: on 20 October the personal exhibition “Dreams in the dark” by the artist Enrico Dicò will be inaugurated, hosted in the Carlo V Castle in Lecce until 30 November. An exhibition of unique works, characterized by a perfect synthesis between experimentation and creativity.

From 26 October, in the Copertino Castle, it will be possible to visit “Manibus Experience – Racconti di Puglia”, a collective exhibition dedicated to Apulian craftsmanship and design, with creations by local masters such as the Orafi Moramarco, Dimarmo, Parisi 1876, and artists such as Antonio Dattis and Raffaele Gentile. For those looking for thematic insights, the Manibus Masterclasses also open on 24 October with an appointment dedicated to costume crafts, held by the well-known costume designer Luigi Spezzacatene.

“This event recognizes the value of those who invest in their skills, defending centuries-old traditions but embracing innovation,” commented Michele Emiliano, president of the Puglia Region. “Our region is a hotbed of young talents who proudly represent our territory.”

Alessandro Delli Noci, councilor for economic development, added: “Promoting the authenticity of Made in Italy is a central objective. With the Manibus Award we celebrate local talent, supporting the growth of the craft and design sector on international markets.”

The mayor of Lecce, Adriana Poli Bortone, also expressed her appreciation: “’Manibus’ means doing with your hands, a concept that represents the cultural and economic commitment of a tradition. We want to encourage young people to discover craftsmanship, a profession that offers authentic satisfaction and which belongs to the history of humanity.”

Nicola Miulli, artistic director, concludes: “The Manibus Award is a tribute to Italian know-how, a heritage of skills and traditions that deserves to be valued and shared with the world.”
