The IDF has revealed details of a recent incident involving an unmanned aerial vehicle that crossed the border from Syria and entered Israeli airspace.

This was reported by The Times Of Israel.

According to the army, the UAV was promptly detected and destroyed by air defense forces over the southern Golan Heights.

Due to the infiltration of the UAV, alarm sirens went off in a number of settlements in the Golan Heights, warning local residents of the potential threat.

Previously, Cursor wrote that the IDF used a new bomb to “incinerate” a building in Lebanon.

Last week, IDF forces struck a building in the Lebanese district of Dahiya, which led to the instant collapse of the structure. In a matter of seconds, the building collapsed, as if made of paper. Multiple witnesses recorded the attack on their mobile phones, filming the structure collapsing in five seconds, leaving nearby buildings undamaged but shrouded in a thick cloud of dust and smoke.

According to experts, Israel used the Spice 2000 bomb, developed by the Rafael company, which has been in service for almost two decades. Bombs of this series are highly accurate and are used mainly for attacks on targets of the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah. The development includes several modifications with different weights: from the light Spice 250 weighing 125 kg to the heaviest Spice 2000 weighing 900 kg.

Raphael notes that the accuracy of these bombs is ensured thanks to a system that allows deviation from the target of no more than three meters. This precision is achieved through the use of an autonomous navigation system and a small pair of wings, which allows the bomb to glide. Company specialists claim that a pilot can safely drop it from a distance of up to 125 km, depending on the model. Guidance is supported by a satellite system, as well as an electro-optical search system, which makes the final adjustment by comparing the target with a loaded map.

According to Jean-Christophe Noël, a researcher at the French Institute of International Relations, the higher the bomb is dropped, the more destructive its impact. Also, according to Jeremy Beeney, an analyst at the defense company Jane’s Information, the unique Spice 2000 guidance system allows you to attack targets with high accuracy and resistance to interference, as confirmed by footage from the strike zone.
