Malayalam actor Dileep, who was arrested in a case of abducting and raping an actress in a car, has been released on bail. Another case has been registered against six persons, including Dileep, for plotting to assassinate a police officer investigating the case.
Dilip has been granted conditional bail in this case as well. In this situation, Dileep filed a fresh petition in the Kerala High Court. The actress’ abduction case against me is almost over and the subsequent re-investigation is a diversion from the case. It should therefore be barred from re-trial in this case. Otherwise, the case should be handed over to the CBI. The court hearing the petition refused to accept Dilip’s request and dismissed his petition.
The judge ruled that there was nothing wrong with interrogating new witnesses in the actress abduction case and ordered the police to complete the trial by April 15.
