During this meeting, the two parties welcomed the excellence of Moroccan-Brazilian relations, reaffirming their desire to further develop them and raise them to higher levels in the service of the interests of the two friendly countries.
In this sense, Mr. Lahlimi estimated that Morocco and Brazil are called upon to strengthen their relations, in particular through the diversification of areas of cooperation, growing economic exchanges and the consolidation of institutional mechanisms.
He also welcomed the quality of relations between the two friendly countries, recalling in this regard the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Brazil, which marked a milestone in bilateral relations, in addition to the signing of various cooperation agreements in recent years.
During these discussions, the High Commissioner for Planning specified that economic exchanges between the two countries reached nearly $3 billion in 2021, with a trade surplus of $2 billion for the Kingdom.
For his part, Mr. Parola indicated that relations between Morocco and Brazil are the illustration of a rich history, punctuated by events and fruitful cooperation, affirming that these links continue to evolve, thus contributing to an understanding deep mutual understanding and growing collaboration between the two countries.
He further invited the HCP to collaborate with the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) to benefit from the exchange of experiences and expertise, providing insight into the mission of the IBGE.
