State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) paid BGN 1,060,070 to 142 animal breeders out of a total of 169 submitted applications for “de minimis” aid, which is provided to enterprises involved in cattle breeding, to compensate for the costs of slaughtering, transport and administrative documents for raised and slaughtered cattle. Admission under the scheme continued until October 11, 2024, according to the Fund.

The aid aims to help local producers sell their cattle and is provided for animals slaughtered and sold in the period from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, with the amount of support being up to BGN 230 per slaughtered cattle. A necessary condition for receiving the financial support was that the slaughtered animals were aged 10 months inclusive, up to and including 24 months. The animals must have been reared for at least the last 4 months up to the date of slaughter on the holding of the farmer who applied for the aid, and sold directly from the holding to a slaughterhouse for slaughter, slaughtered in a slaughterhouse or slaughtered in their own slaughterhouse/ farmer’s slaughterhouse.

The DFZ reminds that the Management Board of the Fund decided to increase the aid budget from BGN 1,100,000 to BGN 1,400,000, and the unit rate for a slaughtered animal was increased from BGN 200 to BGN 230.

The funds will be transferred to the remaining 27 animal breeders after the completion of the administrative checks.

From October 24 to November 4, 2024, farmers included in the Register of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) for the issued protocols for establishing damage caused by fire in 2024 can apply for “de minimis” aid for compensation for damages. They can submit applications for support to the Regional Directorates of the State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) in person or through an authorized person.

The destroyed areas and animals of the farmers must fall or have been grown in the regions or municipalities for which a state of emergency/emergency has been declared, according to the orders of the regional governor or mayor of the settlement.
