In the recently released podcast ‘From Zero: A Conversation With <a href="https://time.news/linkin-park-sparks-speculation-with-100-hour-countdown-is-a-new-vocalist-on-the-horizon/" title="Linkin Park Sparks Speculation with 100-Hour Countdown: Is a New Vocalist on the Horizon?”>Mike Shinoda And Emily Armstrong’, the band’s mastermind spoke about the sense of unity within Linkin Park. He really likes the chemistry in the new lineup. “The dynamic of everyone in the band, but especially among those who have been there the longest, is very good. For me it’s the best team spirit we’ve ever had.”Befand Shinoda.
Creatively on the same wavelength
However, Mike Shinoda did not want to disrespect the old line with this statement: “I do not say this to criticize the old player. I say this specifically about the growth of Brad, Joe, Dave and myself.” And that has a lot to do with gratitude: “We all have a very good place. And one reason for this is gratitude that we can be active again. Imagine: The thing you love to do in the world is being taken away from you. You can’t do it anymore. It’s gone. And then you live with him for a while. And at some point you get to the point and you say to yourself: ‘You’ll get it back now!’ That’s a crazy feeling.”
Editor’s recommendation
Mike Shinoda also remembered the great creative connection he had with Chester Bennington, who died in 2017. “With Chester I had someone I could bounce ideas off of. And he could bring it to life like no one else could. When Shinoda collaborated with other musicians, this experience no longer occurred. “I started to realize that this was harder to find. This is unusual.” When he did a song with other artists, the result was only a B+. “Over time, I realized there was something else. An unknown is something that cannot be quantified, cannot be measured and cannot be planned for. It’s either there or it’s not. In the end, that was what we were looking for more than anything else. And I think we finally have it now.”
