Three couples going to Goa assembly

Michael Lobo of the Congress Party has won his traditional constituency of Calcutta.

The results of the Goa state assembly elections are being counted. In Goa, which has 40 constituencies, three couples have been elected to the assembly.

Vishwajit Rane, the BJP’s health minister, and his wife Divya have won the Valpoi and Borium constituencies. Vishwajit won by a margin of 8085 votes and Divya by a margin of 13943 votes.

Similarly, Michael Lobo of the Congress party has won his traditional constituency of Calcutta. His wife Delilah has won the Siolim constituency on behalf of the Congress.

BJP candidate Adancio Montserrat has won the Panaji constituency and his wife Jennifer has won the Talegaon constituency.

But the convicts were not so lucky. Kavita Kandolkar, who contested on behalf of the Trinamool Congress, and her husband Kiran lost in Divim and Altona constituencies respectively. Similarly, Churchill Alemao, who contested from Penalim constituency, and his daughter Valanga, who contested from Novelim constituency, also lost.
