People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon said on the 27th, “My opposition to the president does not mean I am against the individual,” and added, “I think it is the right path for me as the party leader and the path for all of us to live.” Recently, when President Yoon Seok-yeol virtually rejected three demands related to First Lady Kim Kun-hee during a meeting with Representative Han, Representative Han formalized the push for a special inspector general to inspect the President’s spouse’s misconduct. Accordingly, Representative Han personally began to explain the situation in which the conflict within the ruling party was intensifying as the President’s Office and the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Seok-yeol) camp opposed it.
Representative Han responded to a question about ‘the competitiveness and differentiation of the People Power Party’ at the ‘Reverse Interview “It is allowed,” he answered. He said, “As the party leader, I have many different opinions,” and “It is possible for the People Power Party to oppose me and make mocking remarks.” At the same time, he said, “I cannot imagine the floor leader or key party official in the Democratic Party harshly criticizing Representative Lee Jae-myung’s judicial risks. “This is a big difference.” Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People Power Party, who is pro-Yoon Gye-in, opposed Representative Han’s push for a special inspector general, saying it was “an internal matter.”
In response to floor leader Chu’s mention of the special inspector general meeting after November 1, when the National Assembly Steering Committee’s inspection of the National Assembly ended, some in the pro-Korean (pro-Han Dong-hoon) circles said on the same day, “A general meeting of lawmakers should be convened within this week,” and “There is no possibility of a vote.” He put pressure on it, saying, “It must be kept open.” On the other hand, the pro-Yoon group and the leadership in the National Assembly said, “It is difficult to hold a general meeting this week before the National Assembly inspection is over. He protested, saying, “This should not be a contest for votes between camps.” An official in the National Assembly asked, “Has this issue ever been decided by a vote?” In response to this, voices are growing, especially among neutral zone lawmakers with a lighter faction within the party, who say, “Before the National Assembly, Representative Han and Floor Leader Choo must find an agreement.” Accordingly, there is discussion within the ruling party about the possibility that former National Assembly representative Han and floor leader Choo will negotiate regarding the special inspector general.
Representative Han and Floor Leader Choo also emphasized conflicting messages at the memorial service for former President Park Chung-hee on the 26th. Representative Han said, “I will follow the spirit of former President Park and go down the path of change and renewal,” and Representative Choo said, “Above all, we must do more for the unity and integration of the people.”
