Arsenal – Liverpool 2-2: “Division” at the “Emirates” with… City the winner

by time news

The big game between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates ended without a winner (2-2), in the context of the 9th game of the Premier League. A result in favor of Manchester City, who are now alone at the top, leaving the “reds” at -1 and the “gunners” at -5.

The game started with Arsenal opening the scoring with Saka giving Robertson … sacks and then putting Kelleher through for 1-0 in the 9th minute. Liverpool had an immediate response as Van Dijk headed home in the 18th minute to make it 1-1. In the 20th minute, Merino failed from an advantageous position, as did Havertz in the 31st minute. The goal for the “gunners” came before half time as Merino grabbed the header and made it 2-1 in the 43′. A score with which both teams went to the locker room.

In the second half, Liverpool understandably pushed for the goal that would have given them another chance to win, but a classic opportunity did not materialise. All this until 81 ‘, when Mohamed Salah “struck”. The Egyptians took Alexander-Arnold’s pass on the penalty spot and went home with 2-2. Nothing changed after that with 2-2 as the final score.

THE KEY TO COOPERATION

Arsenal missed chances in the first half, mainly with Merino and Havertz failing to get on the scoreboard, Liverpool kept in the game and gave them a chance to equalise.

THE CHANGE OF THE GREEN

Mohamed Salah’s goal ultimately decided the result, making it 2-2. Especially in the second half where there were not as many clear opportunities as there were in the first half and Arsenal could have won in the end.

AMOUNT AVAILABLE

Andrew Robertson was struggling down the left for Liverpool, with Bukayo Saka doing his best to create good chances. Slott did not last long and was replaced by Kostas Tsimika in the 63rd minute.
