Brann is closing in on Bodø/Glimt before the last four matches of the year, and the hope for gold celebrations in Bergen is still alive.
Glimt is currently two points ahead with one game less played. On Monday, the league leaders will face Rosenborg, and if they lose points there, it could become exciting in the title race.
Sunday’s match took place between two clubs with very different prospects in the season’s final stretch. An efficient home team highlighted the quality difference.
Just after the halfway mark of the first half, Niklas Castro was played through by Felix Horn Myhre. The forward elegantly took the ball with him during the run and side-footed it in to make it 1-0.
– Just look at the touch from Castro, it can’t be done better. It’s simply class, said Solveig Gulbrandsen on TV 2’s broadcast.

Stunning goal
Before halftime, it was also 2-0. Emil Kornvig set the ball up before he smashed it from just over 20 meters. The ball flew into the far corner to roaring cheers from the home supporters.
– What a goal, what a joy-inducing finish. Now it’s party time in Bergen, said TV 2 commentator Endre Olav Osnes.
The 3-0 goal was not as beautiful. Castro stormed into space and fired towards the goal. The ball hit the post and ricocheted back into the back of Jakob Haugaard in the Tromsø goal before rolling over the line.
In stoppage time, Bård Finne scored to make it 4-0 from the penalty spot.

Struggling at the bottom
Brann will face last-place Odd away in the next round, before hosting LSK (15th place) on home soil in the following match. In the last two rounds, they will face much tougher opposition in the form of Molde (away) and Viking (home).
Tromsø, on the other hand, is struggling at the bottom of the table and needs to pick up points in the upcoming matches to avoid getting dragged into the relegation fight. The northern team has five points clear of the drop zone with four matches remaining.
HamKam (home), Haugesund (away), Strømsgodset (home), and Sarpsborg (away) are what awaits Tromsø in the season’s final stretch.
