He studied under Takeo Takei, a children’s painter, and made his debut in 1969 with the four-book series “Iyadai Yada no Ehon.” The “Nenaiko Dareda” series is characterized by its humorous and warm style using adhesive pictures, passed down through the generations and is a masterpiece with a total circulation of 3,515,000 copies. The white “ghost” on the cover became a trademark of Sena’s work.
The girls who appear in books such as “Lulu-chan’s Shoes” from the series of 4 books “An-An’s Picture Book” are modeled after her daughter, and she vividly portrays children based on her own experience at raising a family.
