Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze and Orban will make a statement to the press after the talks, Kobahidze’s office said.
Viktor Orbán was the first among foreign leaders to congratulate Georgia’s ruling party “Georgian Dream” on its victory in Saturday’s parliamentary elections.
He did this even before the first official voting results appeared.
The Hungarian Prime Minister is one of the main allies of the current “Georgian Dream” government. The opposition calls “Georgian Dream” a pro-Russian political force.
Orbán himself is considered a Kremlin-friendly leader.
“Georgian Dream” claims that the party has won the elections, at the same time there is a sharp criticism of political opponents.
The opposition insists that there were violations, it does not recognize the official results and is preparing to hold protests.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who has consistently advocated the country’s rapprochement with NATO and the European Union, described the elections as “totally falsified”.
