Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Kerimli continues meetings with groups of the country’s leading theaters. The next meeting took place with the staff of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the press service of the department told Day.Az.
The director of the theater, world-famous opera performer and People’s Artist spoke at the meeting Yusif Eyvazovchief director, honored artist Hafiz Guliyevchief conductor, honored artist Eyub Guliyevleading stage masters – People’s Artist Gulagasy Mirzoevhonored artists Afag Abbasova, Tural Agaziev, Jahangir Kurbanovas well as soloists – Mahir Taghizadeh, Taleh Yahyaev, Atash Karaev, Mutallib Damirov and others who spoke about the creative activities of the theater shared their wishes.
Members of the team drew attention to such issues as improving the material well-being of artists, providing them with housing on preferential terms, as well as replacing musical instruments with expired service life with new ones, retirement and conscription of ballet dancers for military service, payment of fees to musicians for performances at state events, conferring honorary titles, staging new works. During the conversation, issues of editing and publishing scores of works by Azerbaijani composers of the last century, creating conditions for the participation of creative people in competitions, festivals and seminars held in foreign countries, etc. were also discussed. The Minister shared his thoughts on the issues raised.
The minister emphasized that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev cares about the development of the theatrical sphere, as well as various areas of culture. The material and technical base of theaters is being strengthened. Masters of art are regularly awarded honorary titles and awards. A manifestation of this attention is the major renovation of the building of the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Currently, steps are being taken to improve the legislative framework in the field of culture. Once this process is completed, a number of problems will be resolved.
