Today, Monday, the Stabilization Support Service held a graduation ceremony for the third batch of non-commissioned officers in the service, organized by the Training and Qualification Department, whose activities were held at the Specialized Training Institute.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of the Deputy Head of the Service for Public Affairs, Brigadier General Musa Masmous, the Director of the Service Affairs Office, Brigadier Abdul Salam Al-Masoudi, the Head of the Internal Security Service, the Directors of the Service’s departments, a number of personalities, and a group of graduates’ families.
The ceremony included a display of marches and combat paintings presented by the graduates, where the training that the trainees had undergone was reviewed to illustrate the advanced and distinguished level of the security sciences and training they had received.
The agency was established pursuant to Decision No. 38 of 2021 by the Presidential Council of the former Government of National Accord.
According to what was stipulated in Article Four of the decision, the agency shall assume the following powers and tasks:
- Strengthening security measures to protect the state’s official headquarters from any security threats, as well as enhancing the protection of officials whenever necessary, in coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities.
- Participating in securing and protecting official celebrations and events, as well as popular activities, and the activity of civil society institutions authorized by the competent authorities.
- Participate whenever necessary in carrying out combat operations, including incursions, raids, and security pursuits, in coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities.
- Combating riots and resolving clashes carried out by armed outlaws in Libyan cities and villages, in cooperation with the security directorates and competent agencies in the city.
- Participating in arrest operations and prosecuting those wanted in cases that threaten the national security of the state, in coordination with the security and judicial authorities
- Spreading security awareness among segments of society, adopting a culture of not resorting to weapons, resolving disputes and disagreements through judicial, security and social authorities, and supporting programs to collect unlicensed weapons.
- Security cooperation and information exchange with all competent security agencies regarding combating everything that threatens national security and the stability of society
- Contributing to confronting crises and natural disasters
- Any other tasks assigned to him by the Presidential Council in accordance with the legislation in force
