Study: Among journalists the Greens are 41% – the AfD does not appear at all

In polls the Greens represent between 10.5 and 13% nationwide, but according to a new study more than 40% of journalists in Germany are close to them. On the other hand, the CDU and BSW are severely underrepresented. The AfD is not listed at all.

Furthermore, 74% of respondents believe that journalism in Germany is credible and 82% agree with the statement that “in Germany you can usually trust most of the news”.

For the study conducted by TU Dortmund, 525 journalists, who were on average 46.04 years old, were interviewed from March 8 to June 14. 54% said their gender was male, 45% female and 1% different. 47% of those interviewed I have been working as a journalist for more than 20 years. 40% work in public broadcasting, 61% in a private medium and 5% in a medium financed by supporters – for example donations, crowdfunding, foundation or cooperative (multiple answers possible).
