Study: Among journalists the Greens are 41% – the AfD does not appear at all

In polls the Greens represent between 10.5 and 13% nationwide, but according to a new study more than 40% of journalists in Germany are close to them. On the other hand, the CDU and BSW are severely underrepresented. The AfD is not listed at all.

The second highest value goes to the answer “no party” with 23%. According to current national polls from the last four weeks, the Union is between 31 and 36 percent, the AfD between 16 and 19 percent, the SPD between 15 and 16 percent, the Greens between 10, 5 and 13%, the BSW between 7 and 9%. percent, the FDP between 3 and 5%, the left between 2.5 and 4% and all other parties together between 6 and 12%.

The AfD is not listed separately in the list. The SPD and FDP are almost correctly represented in the party preferences. The Greens are extremists, the left is slightly overrepresented, the Union and the BSW are significantly underrepresented.

27% of those interviewed agreed with the sentence “Journalists tend to mainly adopt the positions of the party they are closest to in their articles”, 34% answered “partly-partly”, 37% did not agreed and 2% responded “don’t know” or provided no information.

Furthermore, 74% of respondents believe that journalism in Germany is credible and 82% agree with the statement that “in Germany you can usually trust most of the news”.

For the study conducted by TU Dortmund, 525 journalists, who were on average 46.04 years old, were interviewed from March 8 to June 14. 54% said their gender was male, 45% female and 1% different. 47% of those interviewed I have been working as a journalist for more than 20 years. 40% work in public broadcasting, 61% in a private medium and 5% in a medium financed by supporters – for example donations, crowdfunding, foundation or cooperative (multiple answers possible).
