Bayern Munich maintained their lead in the German Football League today, winning 5-0 against last-place Bochum in a match played at eight.
The Bavarians now have 20 points, just like Leipzig, but there is a much better difference between goals scored and conceded.
Portuguese João Palhinha started for Bayern, in a game where the visitors’ entire offensive quartet scored goals.
Vincent Kompany’s men, who were coming off a big win in the Champions League, 4-1 against FC Barcelona, opened the scoring in the 16th minute, thanks to a direct free kick scored by Frenchman Michael Olise.
After 10 minutes, Bayern reached 2-0, with Jamal Musiala’s goal, with no further changes to the score until half time.
In the second half, Musiala’s midfield incursion left Harry Kane’s scoring pass behind in the 57th minute. This is already the Englishman’s ninth goal of the year in the Bundesliga, adding a further five goals in the Champions League.
Entering the game in the 61st minute, Leroy Sané also scored quickly – he scored in the 65th minute, reiterating that he is fighting to regain the starting position that Olise lost this season.
Rounding off the offensive feast, Frenchman Kingsley Coman scored a stunning goal in the 71st minute, with a ‘crouched’ shot with no chance of defence.
Benfica’s next opponent in the league stage of the Champions League is Bayern, hosting the Lisbon club on November 6.
