Felgueiras-Marítimo, 1-3: Rui Duarte’s successful debut – 2nd League

by time news

Marítimo achieved their third consecutive victory in the 2nd League this Sunday, in the final game of coach Rui Duarte, beating Felgueiras 3-1, in a ninth round game with many interruptions.

Iancu Vasilica was saved too much in the minutes of extra time in the second half – he gave six –, the islanders used them to break the rhythm and, at the right moment, deliver the final blow to the wishes of the locals and the result, with a goal from Rodrigo Borges, the team’s third, in the 76th minute.

Marítimo started Rui Duarte, the third coach of the season, who could not have asked for a better start, with two early goals scored by the players he returned to the eleven.

Fábio China opened the scoring in the ninth minute, with a shot from the edge of the area taking advantage of a rebound, and, two minutes later, in the ninth minute, Felgueirense’s André Rodrigues increased the advantage, completing a beautiful collective play.

To lose, Agostinho sent Bento Pedro Rosas and Bruninho, readjusting the defense and midfield, and managed to shake up the game, starting to win more duels and increase the approach to the Maritimista goal.

The main scorer Léo was close to the goal in the 42nd minute, which would happen in stoppage time, at 45’+2, by Carlos Eduardo, correcting Rosas’ cross from the left.

Felgueiras started strongly in the second half and managed to push Marítimo into their midfield, but the constant loss of time broke the spirit of the team and gave the islanders, in transition, the most opportunities better to create.

With this victory, Marítimo rose to fourth place, now with 15 points, while Felgueiras, who are still without a win at home, are still in 10th place, with 11.
