Speaking at a press briefing following this interview, Mr. Bensaid underlined that the two agreements relating to the cultural field and the creative industry, signed Monday during the ceremony chaired by HM the King Mohammed VI and the French President, HE Emmanuel Macron, reflect the importance that the Sovereign attaches to this area.

Mr. Bensaid added that Morocco is working to introduce new professions linked to the electronic games industry, whose global turnover is around 300 billion dollars, deeming it “indispensable” that Morocco carves out a place in this domain.

The minister assured that among the areas of cooperation between Morocco and France, there is cinema, indicating that cooperation projects in this area between the two countries will see the light of day in Dakhla and Ouarzazate.

For her part, Ms. Dati noted that cultural relations between France and Morocco are characterized by deep friendship and mutual trust, “reflecting a strategic partnership between our two nations”.

Ms. Dati underlined the importance of this cooperation, illustrated in particular by the signing of two agreements aimed at encouraging exchanges and strengthening the cultural and creative industries sectors, particularly in terms of heritage, cinema, books, and games. video.

“One of the flagship projects of these agreements is the future Gaming City in Rabat, which aims to make Morocco a key player in the video games sector,” she said.

This cooperation framework intends to mobilize the expertise of renowned French institutions, such as the National Center for Cinema and Animated Images (CNC) and the ISART Digital School, with financial support from the Ministry of Europe and of Foreign Affairs, she said.

“We share with the Kingdom the conviction that the creative industries represent an essential lever for employment, growth and the dynamism of youth,” said Ms. Dati, referring to the ambitious projects planned in terms of heritage and Francophonie, such as as the creation of the International City of Cinematographic Production in Ouarzazate and residences for Moroccan filmmakers in France.

“Through these initiatives, we are strengthening our commitment to promoting cultural diversity and promoting dialogue” between the two countries, noted Ms. Dati, reaffirming the desire of France and Morocco to build together a common cultural future, serving innovation and youth.
