A creative evening of Nizami Askerov was held in Baku

A creative evening of the famous harmonica player took place at the International Mugham Center in Baku Nizami Askerovareports Day.Az.

At the evening, Doctor of Philosophy in art history, Honored Cultural Worker Saadat Takhmirazgizi spoke about the work of Nizami Askerov, his qualities as an excellent musician, an experienced teacher who played an important role in the formation of a new generation of musicians, and the development of performing arts. It was noted that Nizami Asgarov made a great contribution to the development of national music; every melody he performs or creates conquers hearts and wins people’s love. Guests were presented with a video in which prominent cultural figures Alibaba Mamedov, Janali Akperov, Agakhan Abdullayev, Aftandil Israfilov, Alim Gasimov, Agaverdi Pashayev, Mansum Ibragimova shared their thoughts about the musician’s work.

Guests were presented with a concert program with the participation of singers and musicians. Nizami Askerov thanked the organizers, musicians and guests for the wonderful festive evening.

Nizami Askerov was born in 1957 in the city of Baku. He began his professional activity in 1977 as an accordionist in the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev. Having started working in 1982 as a harmony teacher at the Palace of Culture named after Ashug Alesker, in 1993 he continued his activities at the Baku Choreographic School, and since 1995 at the Gymnasium of Arts at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. In 1997, he was invited to join the ensemble of People’s Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan Zeinab Khanlarova, and toured with the group in more than 20 countries.

An important role in his initiation into professional art was played by his uncle Ashug Shirvana – Ali Asker Askerov. He performed with such artists as Zeinab Khanlarova, Yagub Mamedov, Sabir Mirzoev, Gulu Askerov, Nazaket Mamedova, Baba Mahmudoglu, Alibaba Mamedov, Agakhan Abdullaev, Arif Babaev, Suleiman Abdullayev, Sakina Ismailova, Alim Gasimov, Mamedbaghir Bagirzade, Nisa Gasimova, Mansum Ibrahimov, Kenul Khasieva, Melekkhanym Eyubova and others.
