Lady Gaga Releases Music Video for Dark Dance-Pop Track ‘Disease’

by time news

Lady Gaga delves into the darkness with her “Disease” music video, a captivating visual experience accompanying her latest single.

Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Gaga opened up about her struggle with “inner demons,” revealing that confronting this inner turmoil inspired the song. She describes feeling trapped by chaos and turmoil, a feeling she portrays through the song’s dark dance-pop vibe.

“Disease” isn’t about escaping these inner demons, but rather facing them head-on. Gaga recognizes that these darker impulses are a part of herself, and while she may try to run from them, they always resurface. She embraces this cycle, seeing it as a crucial part of her journey.

The music video reflects this theme, with Gaga dancing, morphing, running, and purging, forever caught in a cycle of self-confrontation. She ultimately finds beauty in this integration, recognizing that embracing these ‘unwanted’ parts makes her whole.

This release marks the first taste of Gaga’s highly anticipated seventh album, expected in February. Before that, “Harlequin,” a companion album to “Joker: Folie à Deux,” debuted in late September, reaching number 20 on the Billboard 200 and taking the top spot on the Billboard jazz charts.

The “Disease” drop was a ‘double feature,’ Gaga revealed on social media, releasing “Die With a Smile (Live in Las Vegas)” simultaneously. The 70s-inspired track, a collaboration with Bruno Mars, topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for eight weeks.
