The music video for Rosé’s pre-released single ‘APT.’ (Apartment) has surpassed 200 million views. This is the shortest record for a K-pop female solo artist.
The Black Label announced on the 30th that Rosé and Bruno Mars’ duet song ‘APT.’ reached 200 million views on YouTube, a record reached 22 hours after it was released on the 18th.
‘APT.’ is a pre-release single released ahead of Rosé’s official comeback on December 6th, and will be included in her first full-length album ‘Rosie’.
‘Rosie’ contains a total of 12 songs, including the title song and ‘APT.’ Rosé will participate in writing and composing all the songs in this album, and will tell her own more honest and intimate story.
Rosé and Bruno Mars appeared together in ‘APT.’, which garnered attention with its witty visuals. The music video surpassed 100 million views just 5 days after its release.
In addition, it maintained its position as the number one trending video and trending music in Korea every day, and also ranked first in trending music in the U.S., truly demonstrating the great integration of the global music market.
The record-breaking streak of ‘APT.’, which caused a syndrome not only in Korea but also around the world, continued.
‘APT.’ landed at No. 1 on Spotify’s U.S. chart immediately after its release, and took No. 1 on iTunes charts in a total of 40 regions.
It also ranked first on QQ Music, the music site with the largest market share in China, demonstrating the enthusiasm of ‘APT.’, which took the Americas and Asia by storm.
Rosé is also breaking career highs every day through this single ‘APT.’ Not only was she the first K-pop female solo artist to reach #1 on Spotify in the US and #1 on the Global Spotify Top Song chart, but she also broke the record for the shortest time for a K-pop female solo artist by reaching 100 million streams on Spotify in just 7 days after the song was released.
In addition, she entered 4th place on the UK Official Singles Chart ‘TOP 100’ (Top Back), which is considered one of the two major global pop charts along with the US Billboard chart, setting the highest record for a K-pop female artist.
It entered the Billboard main single chart ‘HOT 100’ (Hot Bag) announced on the 29th (local time) at 8th place, creating the highest record for a K-pop female artist and the first to debut in single digits.
‘APT.’ entered first place on both Billboard’s ‘Global 200 (including the US)’ and ‘Global 200 (excluding the US)’. In particular, the ‘Global 200 (including the U.S.)’ chart achieved a milestone, ranking first with the second-highest streaming figure in Billboard’s history.
‘APT.’, in which Rosé directly participated, is a song inspired by the ‘Apartment Game’, which is widely known in Korea.
Rosé said, “‘Apartment Game’ is a game I really like. It’s simple, fun, and perfect for brightening the mood. One night, I taught the staff I was working with in the studio how to play the game and watched them all having fun together. “I started working on the song while watching it, and Bruno Mars joined and the song was completed,” he said.
