Job: Action Diaspora Dano provides food for malnourished children of the CMA
Dano, (AIB) – The Action Diaspora Dano (ADD) association offered food to the Recovery and Nutrition Education Center (CREN) of CMA Dano, Saturday October 19, 2024, for the benefit of malnourished children in Yoba province. .
The rector, president of the special municipal delegation (PDS) Dano, Denis Zanré, was in the presence of the beneficiaries as chairman of the presentation of the donation. According to the coordinator of Dano Diaspora Action, Batamaka Somé, this donation consists of 5 tons of rice, 50 kilograms of fish, beans, millet, corn, oil and a thousand soumbala balls.
Batamaka Somé welcomed the initiative of the health workers from the CREN of the Medical Center with a surgical branch (CMA) of Dano, which is aimed at curing the nutritional insufficiency of malnourished children and their mothers. He explained that the ADD was asked to make a small contribution to support these children and their carers.
The head of CMA Dano, Dr Dayaissé Renaud was happy to see that the store was full of different food items

“Our motivation comes from the fact that children are the future of our country. We don’t know which of them will one day save us from a difficult situation,” said Mr. Somé. He also said that good will and certain structures favorably accepted their plea, such as the committee accepted to manage donations from the presidency, which made it possible to organize this food donation for CREN Dano.
“Donors want this food to be used for children and their mothers, and we trust you to make this wish come true. We hope this will reduce your stress and allow you to devote yourself fully to treating these children,” he told the CREN team.
The ADD coordinator officially gave a sample of the food to PDS commune Dano, who then entrusted them to the doctor in charge of CMA Dano, Dr. Palinguéwindé Renaud Dayaissé, to feed malnourished children interned by the CREN . .

The first leader of the Dano community pointed out that this sign at the ADD shows the connection that members of the diaspora have with their area. For him, it is a sign of brotherhood, solidarity and love for citizens in difficult situations. Denis Zanré thanked the ADD for this patriotic act and congratulated the health workers for their commitment to the sick.
“I advise mothers of malnourished children to scrupulously follow the instructions of the nursing staff to get out of this situation, because a commune without children is a commune without a future,” he said.
The doctor in charge of CMA Dano was very happy to receive these food items. According to Dr Palinguéwindé Renaud Dayaissé, Yoba Province records the most cases of malnutrition in the South West region.
The Dano CREN can serve 40 children per month. “Acute malnutrition is associated with nutritional deficiency. In the first half of this year, we saw a dropout rate of 4.4%. Analysis allowed us to understand that this is due to an insufficient amount of food to support mothers of malnourished children.
This diversified food donation will provide relief to malnourished mothers and their children. That is why I thank ADD members for their generous support. I encourage them about the effective use of these foodstuffs,” said Dr. Dayaissé.
He took this opportunity to launch a goodwill appeal to renew the used mattresses in the pediatrics and CREN CMA Dano.
For Christelle Somda and Amsétou Barry, mothers of malnourished children, this donation from ADD will save their children’s lives and speed up their recovery. They expressed their gratitude to the donors, the municipal authorities, the members of the ADD and the health workers of CMA Dano.

Time.news Interview with Batamaka Somé, Coordinator of Action Diaspora Dano
Interviewer (Editor of Time.news): Good morning, Batamaka Somé, and thank you for joining us today. Your recent initiative with Action Diaspora Dano to combat child malnutrition in Yoba province is truly commendable. Could you share with us what motivated this donation?
Batamaka Somé: Good morning! Thank you for having me. Our motivation stems from a deep belief that children are the future of our country. In our view, we never know which child may one day rise to help our nation out of difficult situations. Thus, supporting malnourished children is a priority for us.
Editor: That’s a profound perspective. This donation included a significant amount of food—5 tons of rice, 50 kilograms of fish, and much more. How did you coordinate this effort?
Batamaka Somé: It was a collective effort that required the collaboration of many. We communicated our needs to various stakeholders, including the presidency committee that manages donations. Their acceptance of our plea was vital and proved that when we present a united front, we can make a real difference.
Editor: It’s inspiring to see such community involvement. During the presentation of the donation, you emphasized the importance of utilizing these resources for the benefit of the children and their mothers. Why is this focus so crucial?
Batamaka Somé: The primary goal is to ensure that our efforts directly impact those who need it most. The donors have expressed their wishes for the food to be used specifically for the children and mothers at the Recovery and Nutrition Education Center (CREN). By emphasizing this, we hope to alleviate their challenges and allow them to focus on recovery and health.
Editor: It sounds like a well-structured plan. I understand that there was a visible sense of community at the event. Can you describe the atmosphere when you presented the donation?
Batamaka Somé: Absolutely! The atmosphere was filled with hope and gratitude. The health workers from the CMA Dano were deeply committed to their work, and we felt a strong bond of solidarity. The joy on the faces of the community members showed that they felt supported and recognized by the Diaspora, which was incredibly uplifting.
Editor: The connection between the Diaspora and local communities you mention is quite significant. How do you see this relationship evolving in the future?
Batamaka Somé: I believe this relationship will grow stronger as we continue to demonstrate the impact of our efforts. Initiatives like this foster not only goodwill but also a sense of brotherhood and shared responsibility. I hope this encourages more members of the Diaspora to invest in their home communities, ensuring that support continues even when physical distances separate us.
Editor: That’s a hopeful vision for the future. Lastly, what message would you like to send to mothers dealing with malnutrition issues within their families?
Batamaka Somé: I urge mothers to closely follow the guidance of healthcare staff. It’s crucial for their children’s health. Remember, a community thrives when its children thrive; we must work together to ensure their well-being.
Editor: Thank you, Batamaka Somé, for sharing your insights and the remarkable work you and Action Diaspora Dano are doing to support vulnerable children. Your commitment to nurturing the futures of these children not only strengthens your community but also inspires us all.
Batamaka Somé: Thank you for the opportunity to speak about this important cause. Together, we can make a difference!
