The landing ceremony was held at the Ongaliyamman Temple in Periyapavadi, Erode Fort on Friday.
Kundam landing at Periyapavadi Ongaliyamman temple in Erode, Pongal festival started on the 6th. The potting took place on the 7th. The bombing took place on the 10th. At 6 a.m. on Friday, the temple priest descended on the 11-foot-long kundam and began the kunda descent. More than 200 devotees descended on Kundam after fasting. Ongaliyamman appeared in Sivashankari attire. Alms were given at the temple. At night the Amman Traveedi Ula was held in a lion vehicle. The festival takes place on Saturday. The ceremony concludes with the re-anointing on Sunday.
