After two months of investigation: The murder of the late 4-year-old Amar Hogirat, who played at the Bir al-Maksur playground, has been solved. This morning (Friday), a 23-year-old Nazareth resident was charged with aggravated murder in the Haifa District Court.

About two months ago, a report was received at the police station about a shooting incident that took place near a playground in the village. As a result, the 4-year-old who played in the kindergarten was fatally injured, and the medical staff who arrived at the scene were forced to determine his death.

During the interrogation, they managed to follow the arrival and escape routes of the suspect and tracked him down. A week later Northern District detectives were able to capture him. The suspect arrived at the village and fired at a truck 150 meters from the playground where the deceased was playing.

Northern District Commander Superintendent Shimon Lavi said: “The success of Central Unit investigators in gathering evidence to file a serious indictment against a brutal murderer has once again demonstrated the hard work and commitment to solving crimes in Arab society.”
