With a large contingent of 16 vehicles and around 60 emergency services, the Vienna professional fire brigade fought a fire in a hotel on Sonnwendgasse in the 10th district (Favoriten) late on Friday evening. The building had to be evacuated. The emergency services said in a broadcast that seven people, including two children, were brought out of the danger zone using turntable ladders.

The emergency services moved in after the automatic fire alarm system in a hotel located there had sounded the alarm, it said. Nobody got hurt. According to the message sent shortly after midnight by the Vienna fire brigade, the fire was already extinguished on Saturday night.
