The Prime Ministers and Ministers of the four Caribbean countries of Antigua & Barbada, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts & Nevis participated in the historic moment of signing MoUs with the Soil Conservation Movement started by Satguru.

International singer Machel Montano, hailed as the ‘King of Soca’, has been instrumental in signing the deals. He is committed to bringing awareness about soil resource conservation to a large number of people through his music.

The Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda, Mr. Speaking on the occasion, Gaston Brown said, “We are pleased to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Soil Conservation Movement. Loss of soil fertility leads to destruction. This is the greatest threat to the planet we live on. Climate change was identified as a major threat 30 years ago. At that time, our Caribbean countries were at the forefront of combating that environmental problem. Similarly, now, we are at the beginning of the effort to prevent soil erosion. ”

The Prime Minister of Dominica, Mr. Roosevelt Gert said, “We fully support the move. Only if agriculture does well can people be fed. It is necessary to protect the soil resources on which it is based. ”

The Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Mr. Philip J. Perry said, “We are at a time when we need to revive our country’s agriculture. That fact must be taken into account. “

The Prime Minister of St. Kitts & Nevis, Mr. Timothy Harris said, “Soil fertility is essential for the well-being of all living things on earth. That fact must be taken into account. “

Commenting on this, Satguru said, “These small nations, which are like pearls in the sea, are determined to restore soil fertility. For the good of all living things on earth, every nation must protect its soil resources; These countries are the best example of what can be defended. ”

He added, “We are losing touch with what is responsible for our survival. Soil is an inanimate object; The wrong approach is to use it as you wish. The soil has life. The important message we have to tell young people and future generations is that the soil is alive. ” said.

Ministers of Agriculture, Environment and Health of the above 4 countries also participated in the signing ceremony of the MoUs. Satguru presented a book to the leaders of the 4 countries on the steps to be taken to restore the soil resources of the Caribbean. The solutions mentioned in it are recommended according to the climatic conditions and agricultural practices of the respective countries in consultation with international scientists.
