Six districts, including Kottayam, will be hot today; Vigilance Warning | Heat

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is in the heat. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that the maximum temperature in six districts today will be two to three degrees Celsius. The warning was issued in Kottayam, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur districts. Authorities said vigilance was needed in these districts. Vigilance was issued in the same districts yesterday.

The director of the Kerala Meteorological Department, Dr. S.K. K. Santhosh informed. 33% below average rainfall and the influence of dry northeast winds are the main reasons for the rise in temperature.

Kottayam and Kollam districts recorded 37 degrees Celsius, Thrissur 38.6 degrees Celsius and Palakkad 38 degrees Celsius. In the city of Thiruvananthapuram it was 34.5. Kottayam, Idukki, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts are likely to receive light showers on the 15th, the Met office said.
