Romantic wife
Selvam’s son Mariappan (age 30) hails from Thirukurungudi North Rathaveedi near Ervadi in Nellai district. He is serving as a soldier in the state of Assam. He and Prema (24) from the same area fell in love with each other. Both the couples objected to this romance as they belong to different community.
Mariappan and Prema got married in 2017 despite the opposition of their parents. Later they rented a house in Chennai and ran the family. They have a 4 year old baby girl.
2nd marriage
The couple divorced in 2020 due to a disagreement between the husband and wife. Mariappan lived in Assam and Prema in Chennai. Last year, Mariappan married a woman from Pudukottai in Thoothukudi district for the second time. Meanwhile, on the 9th of last month Prema fainted. Following this Mariappan is said to have killed his wife and some of the drunkards are said to have dried up.
Upon learning of this, the police arrested Mariappan and conducted an investigation. Sensational information was leaked during the police arrest investigation.
Dispute for money
Although Mariappan was married for the second time, he often talked to Prema on his cell phone. This led to a dispute between them. Due to this, Mariappan planned to kill Prema. He talked nicely that he could go to the city and brought him to Thirukurungudi on the 9th. But he did not take her home and went to the Periyakulam area and talked to Prema.
At that time, it is said that Mariappan strangled Prema with the piece she was wearing. Also, he dug near the edge of the pond and buried his body and went home.
The above information was revealed during the police investigation. Prema’s body was exhumed and sent to Palayankottai Government Hospital for autopsy.
