Right now, Hezbollah terrorists are conducting massive shelling of Nahariya and the Western Galilee region, firing dozens of rockets towards Israeli territory.
This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.
At the moment, it is unknown how many rockets the terrorists launched into Nahariya and Western Galilee.
The IDF has not yet commented on this attack.
According to new dataabout 35 launches were made in the Nahariya area, most of which were intercepted.
Since midnight, about 115 rockets have been fired at Israel.
We remind you of the importance of following safety rules during shelling:
- If your home has a protected room (MAMAD) or bomb shelter, take shelter there immediately, making sure to close the armored shutters. If there are no such rooms, choose a room with the fewest external walls and windows, close all doors and windows, sit on the floor against the internal wall and avoid standing in front of windows.
- Residents of multi-storey buildings where there is no MAMAD or bomb shelter must go to the stairwell and go down two floors below the top level of the building.
- If you find yourself on the street during the “Tseva Adom” signal, immediately take shelter in the nearest building. If there are no buildings nearby, lie down on the ground and cover your head with your hands.
- After the signal, do not leave the shelter for 10-15 minutes, unless otherwise indicated by the Home Front Service.
- If you find rocket debris, immediately report it to emergency services and warn others about the possible danger.
- If you are in a vehicle, stop, leave the vehicle and hide in a nearby building. If this is not possible, lie on the ground and cover your head. As a last resort, stay in the car for 10 minutes.
- Do not remove the missiles and air defenses – this may be unsafe and reveal information about the Iron Dome’s positions.
Earlier, Kursor wrote that Hezbollah announced an attack on the Palmachim airbase.
Hezbollah terrorists noted that the strike was carried out using a UAV as part of the operation.
Interview: The Escalating Tensions in the Galilee Region
Time.news Editor (T.E.): Good afternoon, and welcome to this special segment on rising tensions in the Western Galilee region. Joining us today is Dr. Sarah Klein, an expert in Middle Eastern geopolitics and a senior researcher at the International Conflict Institute. Thank you for being here, Dr. Klein.
Dr. Sarah Klein (S.K.): Thank you for having me. It’s an important topic that needs to be discussed.
T.E.: Let’s dive into the recent events. Reports indicate that Hezbollah has been launching dozens of rockets into Nahariya and the surrounding areas. What does this escalation signal in the broader context of the region?
S.K.: This escalation is quite significant. It reflects the ongoing tensions not just between Hezbollah and Israel, but also the shifting dynamics in the region that may involve other state and non-state actors. The attack itself, with about 115 rockets launched since midnight and many intercepted, shows a deliberate increase in hostilities.
T.E.: The reports suggest that around 35 rockets were specifically targeted at Nahariya. How effective has the Iron Dome been in countering these threats?
S.K.: The Iron Dome has proven to be highly effective at intercepting rockets, especially when large barrages are involved. The interception rate often exceeds 80%, which reduces the potential for civilian casualties significantly. However, the sheer volume of rockets being fired can strain the system, and any successful strike could have devastating consequences on the ground.
T.E.: The IDF has not yet commented on these attacks. What does that indicate about Israel’s military and strategic posture at the moment?
S.K.: Silence from the IDF can reflect multiple strategies. It may be part of an intelligence-gathering operation or a calculated decision not to escalate the situation further with immediate military responses. However, it’s also a significant approach to avoid inflaming public sentiment or causing panic among civilians. The IDF typically assesses threats carefully before responding.
T.E.: The article emphasizes the importance of following safety rules during such times. What measures should civilians take to ensure their safety?
S.K.: Civilians in affected areas must stay vigilant. This includes having access to bomb shelters and understanding warning signals for incoming rockets. It’s also advisable to stay informed through reliable news sources and government alerts regarding safety protocols. Although the situation may feel overwhelming, adhering to these guidelines can help mitigate risks.
T.E.: Lastly, in light of these recent developments, what can we expect moving forward? Are we likely to see further escalations or possibly diplomatic efforts to de-escalate?
S.K.: While it’s hard to predict with certainty, continued military engagement from Hezbollah could prompt more significant responses from Israel, potentially leading to a broader conflict. However, regional powers and international actors often pivot towards diplomatic solutions, especially to avoid a full-scale war. It’s a careful balance that can shift rapidly based on actions taken on the ground.
T.E.: Thank you, Dr. Klein, for your insights on this complex and evolving situation. We’ll continue to monitor developments closely, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise with us.
S.K.: Thank you for having me. It’s vital to keep discussing these issues as they unfold.
T.E.: Stay safe and informed everyone. We’ll bring you more updates as they become available.
