Krishnagiri: The Lok Adalat was held yesterday in all the courts in the Krishnagiri Integrated Court Complex and in the Hosur, Uthangarai, Pochampally and Dhenkanikottai court premises. District Chief Justice Kalaimathy presided over the people’s court in Krishnagiri. Speedy Women’s Court Judge Latha, Additional District Judge Vijayakumari, Special District Court Judge Mani, Chief Criminal Judge Rajasimha Varman, Permanent People’s Court President Velmurugan, Special Additional Magistrate Judge Rajamakesh, Additional Magistrate Judge Kumaravarman and the plaintiffs, advocates and the public were present. The People’s Court considered pending civil cases, check cases, motor vehicle accident compensation cases, bank and labor welfare cases, and pending mutual settlement criminal cases. A total of 9 sessions were set up across the district and 6,347 cases were taken up for consideration. Of these, out of 1,129 cases, 10 crore, 2 lakh, 45 thousand and 700 rupees were settled.

7.77 crore settlement: Dharmapuri Chief District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Commission Tilak has issued a statement: The Lok Adalat was held yesterday in the Dharmapuri District Integrated Court Complex and in the Arur, Balakod, Pennagaram and Papirettipatti courts. Of these, 3,633 cases were taken up by the court, out of which, in 1,976 cases, 5 crore, 57 lakh, 49 thousand and 824 rupees were settled through conciliation. In addition, 473 bank weekly loan cases were taken up, out of which 98 cases were settled through negotiations and 2 crore, 20 lakh, 38 thousand, 704 rupees were settled. Out of 4,106 cases taken up in the district, out of 2,074 cases, a total of 7 crore, 77 lakh, 88 thousand and 528 rupees have been settled. Thus, he stated.
