Victor Wembanyama was very close to achieving a triple double, in one block, but ended up losing on Monday to the San Antonio Spurs in Los Angeles in the den of the Clippers (113-104) in the NBA. The Spurs still got off to a great start (40-14 after the first quarter), but ended up losing by a long shot to the Clippers (19 of 37 at 51%).
The French phenomenon Victor Wembanyama was still rather awkward in his shooting (9 of 22, 2 of 9 from distance), but his versatility and activity allowed him to finish as the top scorer of the match with 24 points, in addition to having accumulated 13 rebounds, 9 blocks, 3 assists and 3 interceptions. He only missed one block on ”Wemby” to validate his third triple double in the NBA, he who already in February had achieved the feat of making one with points, rebounds and blocks, a rare performance.
The giant (2.24 m), the NBA’s best blocker last season, was authoritative in the Spurs’ racket, accumulating more “blocks” alone than all the Clippers (7).
