K-content‌ production company MooAm (CEO Hyun Hae-ri) presented the animation‍ ‘Natasha Story’ produced with generative AI technology.

This work, which begins with white-haired⁣ Natasha singing with her pet Donkey, is a new reinterpretation of Baek Seok’s poem ‘Me, Natasha, and the White Donkey’, a representative of Korean modern poetry. The song, drawing, movement, and‌ sound effects were ⁣all implemented using generative AI technology, and the entire production period was only two weeks.

The 7-minute animation, which debuted at the ⁣’AI Content Festival 2024′ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, ⁣embodies the poem’s unique lyricism with AI technology and gives‌ lively movement to the characters in the poem.

CEO Hyun Harry ⁢explained, “In the process of reinterpreting Korean traditional fairy‍ tales and literary works with generative AI, ⁤I wanted ⁣to try lyrical‌ musical animation rather than ‌live action.” He added, “There are many areas‍ that need to be improved,⁤ such as ‌movement and ⁢character consistency, but the attempt to‌ reinterpret Korean literature with AI is⁢ innovative in‌ itself,” adding, “It ⁢was⁤ an amazing experience that such ⁢an attempt was possible even without an animation major or drawing artist.”

This work was ⁤selected as a finalist for the Neu Wave AI Film Festival‌ in the United States and will be screened at Emerson College in Los Angeles on the ‍23rd.

Meanwhile, Korean AI content will be introduced through a separate AI ⁣promotion ⁣booth⁤ at Singapore’s ATF (Asia ⁢TV ⁢Forum & ⁢Market) in December. ATF is Asia’s largest broadcast video content market and an⁢ international content trading platform in which media officials from more than‍ 60 ⁣countries around the world participate.

MooAm was recently selected in the content category utilizing AI technology for the ‘AI Cruel‍ Fairy Tale’ project in the ‍Korea Communications‍ Agency’s (KCA) 2024⁤ Broadcasting and OTT Sector Planning and Development Support Project, and is⁢ currently collaborating ⁣with⁣ leading ‍domestic⁤ AI writers. We are currently ‌working on turning six traditional Korean fairy tales and poems into works of art using generative AI.

CEO Hyun emphasized, “The combination of literature‍ and AI is a field with infinite possibilities.” He continued,‌ “The era has come⁢ where you can realize your ⁣own vision without professional personnel or expensive ⁣equipment. There are still challenges to be solved, such as copyright, originality of characters, and déjà vu, but it will be a very encouraging‌ field for young creators.”⁢ “It was reported.
